IFRS Advisory Council Announced_2

Latinex joins the IFRS Advisory Council

Panama, January 19 , 2026. The IFRS Foundation recently announced new appointments to the IFRS Advisory Council , an advisory body that provides strategic advice to the Foundation's Trustees, as well as to the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB).

In this context, Bolsa Latinoamericana de Valores (Latinex) was incorporated as a member of the IFRS Advisory Council, with the participation of its Executive President, Olga Cantillo, as the organization's representative.

The IFRS Advisory Council comprises representatives from over 50 organizations across various regions and sectors, all involved in the development of international corporate reporting standards, including financial and sustainability reporting. Its role is to contribute technical and market perspectives to support the work of the IFRS Foundation's standard-setting bodies.

Latinex's inclusion in this Council reflects the recognition of the role that capital markets play in strengthening transparency, comparability of information and investor confidence globally, as well as the importance of having the perspective of emerging markets and the Latin American region in these discussions.

From Latinex's perspective, this participation is seen as a space for technical dialogue and exchange of experiences, in line with its institutional commitment to contribute to the orderly, sustainable, transparent and efficient development of the securities markets.
